Una nota para casa

Su cara es de pícaro y su sonrisa la de un niño que acaba de hacer una trastada. Me aprendí su nombre el primer día de clase, ocurre con aquellos que más destacan por un comportamiento, digamos, intranquilo. El caso es que F.J. hoy me pidió algo singular. -¡Profe! ¡Profe! ¿a que me he portado bien y te he atendido?. No iba a desanimarle, aunque en dos semanas de clase, a dos horas semanales, es decir, en cuatro días, calculo que:
-no ha hablado con el compañero, 0 días
-ha estado en silencio, 0,25 días
-ha hecho los deberes, 2 días
-ha permanecido tranquilo en su sitio, 0 días
-me ha interrumpido con preguntas, 4 días
-ha prestado más atención a la ventana, 1 día
Así que, le respondo: -Claro que sí F.J. (¡Se le veía tan ilusionado!)
-Pués mi madre no me cree, ¿podrías escribirle una nota diciéndoselo tú misma?
Y mi breve nota fue: F.J. deberá trabajar y atender como lo ha hecho hasta ahora en el futuro.
Se ha ido tan contento que creo que tendré respuesta para el miércoles.
Puede que se mantenga tan ilusionado que lo consiga e incluso que contagie a su compañero que hoy ha tenido el libro abierto pero ha estado más interesado en plástica.

A note for home
He has a naughty face and his smile is that of a child who has just made a mischief. I learnt his name on first class day, this happens with those who stand out for behaviour more or less unsettled. The thing is that F.J. today asked me for something peculiar. Teacher! Teacher! Today I have behaved well and I have been attentive, haven’t I? I didn’t want to discourage him, but during two weeks of class, with two hours per week, this is, four days, I reckon that:
- He didn’t talk with a schoolmate, 0 days
- He was quiet, 0.25 days
- He did his homework, 2 days
- He remained still in his seat, 0 days
- He interrupted me with questions, 4 days
- He paid more attention to the window than to the class, 1 day
So, I answered him– You are right! (He seemed so hopeful…)
– But my mother doesn’t believe me, Can you write down a note for her?
And my brief note said: F.J must work and pay attention to the class, in the same way as he has done till now, in the future.
He went so happy that I was sure I will have an answer on next Wednesday. He may get it if he continues to be so hopeful and even he may transmit it to his classmate, who has had his book open today but has been more interested in modelling.
